Helping inspire young minds in Berkshire

Ufton Court Educational Trust provides history courses and outdoor adventure schemes for disadvantaged children around the South Reading area.

The Good Exchange and Ufton Court Educational Trust

Ufton Adventure is a challenging outdoor education programme helping disadvantaged children living in areas of social deprivation. The children we support are underachieving at school and at risk of disengaging and falling out of education altogether. We now welcome 2,500 children each year.

Ufton Adventure builds self-esteem, tenacity, resilience and empathy. These are the skills young people need to cope with life’s challenges. Schools report that children become more confident and return to school as more successful learners.

Thanks to the Greenham Common Trust and findmeagrant.org, we were able to open Ufton Adventure a year ahead of schedule and help more young people to achieve their potential in life.

The Trusts’ grants, Top-Ups and matched funding were an incredible boost and encouraged greater support from our donors, knowing that their contributions would be matched. We accessed new funding sources and learnt from the experience of other grantseekers. It was like having another fundraiser in the office!

We very much look forward to using The Good Exchange for our future fundraising.
